All three German services used radio relay stations as a supplement to land lines and HF-radio. The advantage of such a system is that it is very difficult to intercept and/or jam the traffic. The system worked in the Dezimeter-Band and each station could accommodate 12 simultaneous telephone conversations. The most widely employed systems by the Luftwaffe were the DMG 3 Rudolf and the DMG 5 Michael systems. Two types of towers were used as depicted below. | ||||
